Tips on Throwing a Butterfly Themed Wedding

The butterfly, widely viewed as a symbol of rebirth and new beginnings, is a natural symbol to use in your wedding decor. Butterfly themed weddings are on an upsurge lately in part because of the symbolism attached, but possibly also because they tend to be something we see as lovely, light, airy and symbolic of all that we love about nature.
Since there are so many varieties of butterfly, you can choose the color most appropriate for your season or theme. For example, there are some beautiful orange monarchs that would be perfect for fall weddings, or for spring/summer you may want to use the pale yellow beauties.
If you still need some inspiration — just imagine the wings of a butterfly embroidered in white on white across the skirt of a wedding gown, and matching accents on your white clutch purse, like this one from Tiana Che.

Wedding favors can also be used to enhance your theme. These small butterfly favors would work perfectly seated on a tiny plant, or package of wildflower seeds for your guests.
Once you get started, you’ll see that finding ways to use butterflies for your wedding is easy. The difficult part will be narrowing down the selection – remember, as with any theme, you want to be careful not to overdo it.
