Real Wedding tandem bicycle themed

Outdoor enthusiasts and quirky couple Rebecca and Collin got behind the wheel of their wedding to make their celebration all about them! To put a little of their personalities into their special day, these high school sweethearts chose a tandem bicycle (that’s a bike built for two!) as the theme of their wedding invitations, and this touch of whimsy was so well received by their friends and fam that it set the wheels in motion for the tandem bike to ride into even more aspects of the wedding day!

The wedding took place at a campground near the home of Rebecca (known to friends and fam as Becky), which overlooks the beautiful Lake Michigan. To begin the wedding festivities of the weekend in the right gear, Becky’s folks surprised the couple with a new tandem bike at the rehearsal! With their bike in tow, the couple was set to ride off into their happily ever after, with the ceremony taking place outdoors in front of family and friends. The tandem bicycle theme was found on the programs as well as in the pics the couple took together and with their wedding party, and guests were treated to the personalized touches of framed photos of the couple hanging from the ceremony chairs. Becky wowed in an elegant off the shoulder white wedding gown and fingertip veil carrying a bouquet blooming with the wedding colors grey and yellow, while Collin dressed the part in a handsome grey suit with a yellow and silver striped tie. The bridesmaids looked sunny and cheerful in lovely strapless yellow numbers, and the groomsmen donned grey and yellow argyle socks, bringing the couple’s happy go lucky spirit with them right down the aisle!

When it came to the wedding reception, the couple took much of the décor and details into their own hands, creating homemade jams with cute little labels to serve as wedding favors and place cards, while Collin also had a hand in the scrumptious looking cake, creating the couple riding a tandem bike cake topper out of wire. Quite the creative couple! Even their friends got in on the designing action, with one pal designing tickets that were good for an ice cream cone (and of course, featuring a tandem bike), that were handed out to the guests for a cool treat following the ceremony.

In a fun twist, the reception, rather than the ceremony, was held at Becky’s church! The church, once a warehouse, was transformed into a beautiful festive celebration with the help of the fam, who pitched in to hang yellow and white paper lanterns, crepe paper and lights to brighten up the space, while pics of the couple and cheerful white and yellow flowers brightened up the tables. Though, we’re not sure anything could have brightened up the wedding anymore than the huge, bright smiles on the couple’s faces throughout, captured beautifully by Rachael Foster Photography!
