Real Wedding: Juanita & Drew’s Delightful DIY Wedding

Adorable twosome Juanita and Drew tied the knot among the beautiful greenery and gardens of Brewster Creek Lodge outside of Chicago. Juanita donned an elegant strapless lacey embroidered A-line gown with a fingertip veil and hot pink shoes, while her groom Drew looked quite dapper in a three-piece suit with a white vest. Juanita brought a punch of color down the aisle with her hot pink bouquet featuring summery pink sunflowers, while her bridesmaids added a vibrant touch with three of the ladies done up in black numbers with hot pink sashes while the other two gals looked pretty in all over hot pink, all carrying bouquets of white sunflowers. Gorgeous!
The enchanting forest setting with eye-popping green grass and trees set the tone for the relaxed but oh so romantic ceremony, with mason jars that the couple embellished with lace, filled with tealights and hung along a wire added to the ambiance of the “I dos.” Following the ceremony, Willie Chandler Photography took photos of the newlyweds and the bridal party at a neighboring park, capturing sensational and quite unique pics at an antique windmill and Japanese gardens.
The DIY mason jar and lace theme was brought right into the reception, where guests were greeted with mason jar wedding favors with blackboard heart cut outs that guests could write their names on, as, according to the blackboard on the table, they were “Your Glass 4 the Night, Whatever Tastes Right.” The couple also created a card box decorated in lace ribbon and filled mason jars with pictures of the two of them as décor – such a fun and creative idea!
The tables were decorated with pink floral arrangements and tall, elegant candle holders, and guests were invited to enjoy a buffet of tasty dishes listed for their convenience on a blackboard menu card. Rather than the traditional wedding cake, Juanita and Drew opted to serve up three tiers of pink and green detailed cupcakes, topped on the 4th tier with a single, beautiful tier of ivory wedding cake for the traditional cake cutting. And of course, this fun twosome hit up the dance floor and danced the night away surrounded by their closest friends and fam.
Thank you to Willie Chandler Photography for sharing this beautiful DIY wedding with us!
