The Man Cave

One of the hottest trends this year in weddings is anything but girly. In fact, it’s the furthest thing from it! Man caves have become quite the fad, offering your groom and his merry groomsmen something just for them amid the tulle, lace and flowers. So, what exactly does a man cave at a wedding entail? Never fear – the entire wedding reception certainly doesn’t have to cater to your male counterpart’s style, but having a certain “man cave” section in the reception, or having a side room attached to the main reception area created specifically to your man’s taste will make him feel special and like his personality is able to shine in the wedding too!
So, how do you create a man cave for the future hubbs? Well, you may not want the game on a big screen TV or a video game console readily available to distract him like a man cave might have at home, but there are ways to bring in some of his faves. The key is to think like your man. What does he find fun? You can bring in mini billiards tables, dartboards or even corn hole, which can be particularly fun at an outdoor reception.
Have a bar set up just for the man cave, offering beer flights of his fave brews, or create a brandy bar where he can class it up with his buds. Have mini apps of his favorite foods, like sliders, mini hot dogs, cones full of fries or even tacos. Another fun idea is to have a cigar bar, where your man can roll his own cigar to celebrate his new status as a mr. to your mrs!
When it comes to the décor, think comfy and darker, cooler colors. Brown or black couches (that you can rent) where the boys can sit back and dark wooden or glass tables will be manly enough while still setting an elegant tone. If he has a favorite sport’s team, you can even bring that into the mix, throwing a Yankees logo above the bar or having Dodgers themed beer mugs. You can also have special party favors for the manly men waiting for them in their man cave, like flasks personalized with their initials.
When it comes to the man cave, it’s all about him – so think about what will bring a smile to his face, and you can’t go wrong!
