If you ever wondered how far your creativity and crafty talents could go with decorating your wedding day, Krista and Kasey’s beautiful vintage chic wedding will put any doubts to rest! Without a large budget to put towards their wedding day, Krista and Kasey instead put their DIY-mindset to work with the help of family and friends. The result? A stunning and charming vintage inspired wedding with a personalized flair.
The ceremony was held outside on the exquisite grounds of Butler’s Courtyard in the little town of League City in Texas. In front of a gazebo, twinkle lights, and white lanterns flanking the aisle, Krista said her “I do” looking beautiful in an elegant ruched white strapless trumpet gown with crystal embellishments and an elbow-length veil, while Kasey said his vows in a grey vest and tie, the perfect fit for the outdoors. The unique vintage touches in this wedding made their way down the aisle as Krista’s bridesmaids, prettied up in dark green knee-length gowns, carried flowers in pearl clutches, while the groomsmen looked sharp with boutonnieres held on by strong yet easy to use magnets – no pin-pricks on these men! But what made these original bouquets even more special was the fact that Krista’s cousin, a florist, designed each and every one.
The reception was an ode to vintage and personalized touches, with vintage mirrors gracing the brick walls and beautiful chandeliers adding an elegant flair. The centerpieces were done up in vintage pieces collected by the bride, blooming with lovely peach roses and set upon square mirrors to up the impact. Guests were greeted with mason jars filled with sweets and topped with burlap as their edible wedding favors, personalized with labels featuring a “K” and “Life is Sweet.” Other sweet touches included a table covered in pictures of the happy couple in vintage frames and a candy buffet with a “Love is Sweet” burlap banner hanging above. A vintage suitcase with “C” “A” “R” “D” “S” hanging individually by clothespins over a lacey throw offered guests a charming place to put their thoughts and well wishes.
The three-tiered round cake was done up in white with textured frosting accented with a few sweet blooms of peach roses, and Kasey got his very own groom’s cake personalized with a golf ball and tee and the University of Houston logo. At the end of an unforgettable evening of family, friends, dancing and delicious desserts, the couple made their grand exit as their guests blew bubbles all around them.
Thank you to Photographer Christa Elyce for sharing this beautiful wedding, and showing us just how elegant and charming a DIY wedding can truly be!
