• Monogram    Monograms have long been a wedding staple, and they make a stylish and personalized way to top off your wedding cake. Go for a silver or even crystal encrusted monogram of your new hubby and wifey initials (depending on your wedding style!) and literally make your wedding cake all your own.

• Flowers    If you’re looking for a more traditional wedding cake but aren’t the biggest fan of cake toppers, you can still top off your delectable confection with flowers, either real or hand-made sugar flowers (but be warned, sugar flowers will cost more as they require more labor – more labor = more cost). For a super simple and chic cake, you can go for an all white cake sans décor except for the burst of blooms on top.

• Bride and Groom    We’ve all seen the old bride and groom on top of the wedding cake, but these aren’t your grandparent’s cake toppers! The creativity that is going into creating customized wedding cake toppers is simply astounding. You can have cake toppers created in your likeness (if the hubbs got a beard, so will the cake topper!), you can have them include props or situations that are personal to you (cake topper dude playing the guitar while cake topper lady sings), and you can even include any children or furry friends in the cake topper too. One of the best parts about these toppers is that because they’re personalized, same-sex couples can have toppers that are two men or two women – and that’s not something easily found in just any store! Couples with a good sense of humor can even find toppers of a more humorous nature, such as the bride carrying the groom or holding on to his coattails as he tries to run away.

• Love Birds    As the vintage and rustic trends have made their way into weddings, birds have become a very popular and very sweet décor element, cakes included. If you’re flocking to the “love bird” trend for your wedding, you can find several different types of love bird cake toppers to choose from to best suit your wedding style – you can have the birds facing outwards or even placed beak to beak for a lovey dovey look!
