A Very Merry Un-Bridal Shower

I just got the cutest idea in my in-box. A very good friend just decided that she will be hosting an Alice in Wonderland themed bridal shower! I just love hearing about any sort of unique themed party, and then of course the ideas start flowing. Now she has a few great ideas already, but was looking for a little more inspiration. So I thought I’d share some ideas here – and maybe we’ll be lucky and get a few more great ideas.

The ideal setting for this type of shindig would obviously be a natural garden. Unfortunately NY winters don’t really lend themselves to a garden party so we’ll have to be a bit more creative. No worries though, with just a few indoor plants and the right ‘tea-party’ decor we’ll feel like we’re outside on a nice spring day.  We’ll have to hit the antique stores for some assorted tea cups and saucers, and maybe even a few vintage clocks if we can find them at the right price. To really get that Wonderland feel, it would be great to decorate (somewhat randomly) with these antique finds.

But before getting to any of that, I’ve done what I normally do when planning a new theme: a little online research. Of course this shower will be unique but it’s always great to see things others have come up with and maybe borrow an idea from here or there. So here are my finds…

Pink Cherry Mama has a TON of great paper goods that would all work really well with this theme. Pictured above are there ‘Eat Me’ ‘Drink Me’ Party Picks and Alice in Wonderland Gift Tags (that would be perfect for tagging favors). Pictured below is their ‘Alice’ Journal.. maybe it could also work as a little guestbook?

The invites in the image above are from Royal Steamline. I just love how graphic they are, it should really set the tone for the event!

My favorite find of the day is this ‘Very Merry UnBirthday’ banner – how great is that? Seems like the folks at Tender Letters made this one just for us! Well almost, but good thing they do custom work too. I’m pretty sure ours will need to say ‘A Very Merry UnBridal Shower to You’!

The cupcake idea I found at Bake-a-Boo Bakery. I just thought it was too perfect to pass up – white rabbits? This particular bakery is based in the UK, so I doubt we’ll be ordering from there, but thats ok we’ll probably make our own anyway.
