A Sex and the City Party, Bridal Shower Style!

If you’re like me, you’re sitting around, cosmo in hand, patiently waiting on the premiere of the new Sex and the City movie. But since we’ve got 10 days left until our countdown ends, I think may be time to put those cosmo’s to good use!
So your BFF is getting married this summer. You’re in charge of the Bridal Shower. You’ve got your cosmo in-hand already. What are we waiting for? Let’s get to planning that ‘Sex and the City’ Bridal Shower!
The first place I like to start is with the invites. For themed parties I like to keep things simple. Really anything related to fashion (shoes in particular), cocktails or New York City would be appropriate. For this party, I chose a simple card with a NYC skyline graphic to serve as the invitation. Invitation from Architette.
As with any themed party, it’s best to be as specific as possible with the invitation wording. Your guests should know that they will be attending a ‘Sex and the City’ themed bridal shower and they will want to dress to the nines!
You can also have fun with the invitation wording by using quotes from the movie. I’m sure you can do much better, but here’s my shot at it:
Miranda to Charlotte: “It’s your day. You get a day. Not a week.”
Charlotte may only get a day, but <Bride-to-be> deserves so much more!
You’re invited to <Bride-to-be>’s ‘Sex and the City’ Themed Bridal Shower!
Put on your best ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ outfit and come celebrate with us!
I found these great stickers on Etsy that would work well as closures for the invites, or would be really fun to place on disposable coffee cups towards the end of the night. “Keep Calm and Carrie On”. A perfect mantra for the bride-to-be.

You may have noticed that I specifically suggested putting the stickers on disposable coffee cups. I did this because with a proper ‘Sex and the City’ party, you would never use disposable cups for cocktails! BUT, check out these fun glass tattoos you can stick on your martini glasses.

Any respectable bridal shower would not be complete with some yummy baked goods. So how can we pay homage to these stylish city gals with sweet treats? I’ve found the perfect solution(s). Check out this amazing cake from Sweet Disposition Cakes:

Or these adorable ‘cocktail cupcakes’ from Hello Sugar…

And last (but not least), you should send your guests off with style! The party favors should definitely be something stylish and very feminine. You can give them mini-manicure sets as favors, or something like this shoe-shaped bottle opener.

However you decide to personalize this party, it’s sure to be a hit! Your girlfriends will be raving about it for many brunches to come.
Oh and by the way, this theme would also work really well for a bachelorette party!

Love the colors and that martini shoe tattoo is the cutest. I just forwarded this to my MOH. You know, as a friendly hint.
