Couples Spending More on the Ring as Brides Get Involved

Oversized Engagement RingWe found this little tidbit rather interesting (and yes, also a little humorous)! Even in these tough economic times, couples are reluctant to spend less on the engagement ring – especially if the bride is involved in the decision!  The Knot 2009 Jewelry Study surveyed 9,000 newly married couples and found that eighty percent of couples were not reducing their spending on the engagement ring; in fact, the average price of an engagement ring is a hefty $5,800. Over twenty percent of couples ended up spending more than they had initially budgeted, and sixty-seven percent of the brides were involved in the purchase of the ring – a figure which is up by five percent from a few years ago.
The most popular metal for engagement rings continues to be white gold, and the favored shape of diamond is round, but the princess cut is steadily gaining in popularity.

Note to thrifty future bridegrooms: try to leave your bride-to-be at home when you go ring shopping!

It’s hard to find the perfect engagament ring.
If you’re planning a proposal soon, prepare a sketch of the ring and send
it to Diamonds-Usa. They will help you to make the perfect ring for you.
