Before you create your save the dates or buy your eco-friendly favors to do your part to help save the planet, you and the future hubbs should save your sanity by creating a wedding website! Why? Wedding websites have become the saving grace of many the engaged couple, because they provide all of your guests with any info they need to know about your wedding in one convenient location. You’ve got a wedding to plan, and as much as you love all your friends and fam, you probably won’t have the time to be fielding phone calls and emails left and right from your guests wanting to know some detail about your big day. By creating a wedding website as one of the first tasks on your checklist, you can put your personal url on all the save the dates and let your guests know to check it out to find out all your wedding day deets!

Plus, wedding websites are fun, and many are even free! There are several different websites that offer them, and you can choose from pre-made templates or have as much input into the design of your page as you’d like to make it all about you. You can add pictures of you and your guy together, and you can make the background have your wedding colors, reflect your theme, or simply be something that reflects the two of you, like having mountains in the background if you met rock climbing. You can even have a wedding day countdown to see just how long till you and your man say “I do.”

But most of all, the website is simply practical. You can write about your engagement story so that you don’t have to repeat it for the zillionth time (not that you really mind!), you can list the accommodations you have set up with room blocks and the contact info to make finding a hotel easier on your guests, and you can even include your registry information with links to the sites where you registered to avoid getting a million calls about that too. You can list out the names of your wedding party with info on how you became friends to give your guests some fun extra insider information, you can include all the info that will go on your invites in case a guest loses theirs, and you can put a list of fun things to do in the area.

So, if you’re looking for a way to make the planning process easier on you, grab your guy and logon to create your very own wedding website. It’ll be a fun thing for the two of you to do together, and trust me, your guests will appreciate it too!
