Fun Ideas for Wedding Hospitality Bags

Your wedding is a time to celebrate you, but you always want to make sure you show all those out of towners who have to hop in a plane, train or automobile to attend your wedding that you appreciate them making the trip! Your wedding day just wouldn’t be the same without ‘em, so one fab way to say thanks is with a hospitality bag.

Wedding Welcome Bags

The hospitality bag is basically a bag of goodies and info for your guests, and is the perf opportunity to bring in your wedding theme, aspects of your hometown or even your heritage! One thing you should always include is info about the wedding – the dates, times and locations (including addresses) of every event of your wedding weekend, and a detailed map showing how to get to them is always appreciated! You may also want to include a list of other things for your guests to do in the area during their wedding weekend downtime, including addresses and contact info for those as well.

Then, the rest of the hospitality bag is up to you! You can personalize the bags themselves with the guest’s names or the location of your wedding, and the bags can be everything from totes the guests can keep to gift bags, or they can be something a bit more fun, like a bucket with a shovel for a beach wedding! A few snacks are always a hospitality bag fave, and you can include some of your favorite candies, some bottled water, or goodies that represent the area of the wedding or where you came from. For example, a gal from Georgia might include some Georgia peaches, peanuts and a bottle of Coke to represent her home state.

If you’re having a beach wedding, you can include some summer party favors like mini-sunscreen or flip flops, or if you’re having your wedding in the snowy mountains, give your guests some gloves and some lip balm. And, no matter where the wedding party is, make sure to include some meds for the wedding hangover the next morning!

Once you’ve figured out what to include in your hospitality bags, make sure you have enough for each person or couple attending your wedding from out of town (local peeps don’t need to receive hospitality bags), and drop them off at the front desk of the hotel(s) where your guests are staying. When they check-in, the person working the front desk will hand your guests their bag. Or, if you’re going to have a hospitality suite at the hotel, you can also house your bags there, and the front desk can let the guests know to drop in to say hi and grab their goodies.
