Fingerprint Wedding Bands
If you’ve been thumbing through jewelry catalogues in search of the perfect wedding bands but haven’t quite put your finger on the best way to personalize your rings, you may just want to check out fingerprint wedding bands. And yes, they’re pretty much exactly how they sound! Sweet little sayings and wedding dates are sentimental ways to add a touching engraving to your bands, but you can’t get a much more unique touch than your new hubby’s fingerprint on your wedding ring, and yours on his!
So how does it work? It is a specialized type of ring so not every jeweler makes them, but Brent & Jess is a great company in the U.S. (and that you can also find on Etsy, so you know they must be fab!) that makes it easy to create these customized rings from anywhere. You can choose the type of metal you want for your bands, and can choose from different styles for men, women and even matching sets. They send you a kit right in the mail with instructions for taking your own fingerprint, and then you pop it right back into the mail to them. It’ll take about 3-4 months in total, so plan ahead, but the jeweler will literally engrave your fingerprint into your hubby’s handmade wedding band, and his fingerprint into yours. You can choose whether you want the fingerprint on the inside of the ring or on the outside, and you can also choose if you want just the fingerprint tip or the entire ring “wrapped” in the fingerprint, which comes from taking a print of the entire length of your finger. And voila! You have a completely customized wedding band that is different from any other wedding band in the entire world. Now that’s pretty special!
But you don’t just have to limit giving your digits to wedding bands. Looking for an unexpected wedding favor to give to the ladies and gents in your wedding party? Get fingerprints from their loved ones and make your bridal party and groomsmen silver pendants or keychains with their sig other’s fingerprint. The members of your wedding party will be touched by such a personal gesture, and you’ll show that you have your finger on the pulse of unique ways to customize a wedding!
