It’s nearly impossible not to become obsessed with celebrity weddings. Extravagant budgets, famous guest-lists, and jaw dropping decorations contribute to the wow factor of celebrity weddings. While Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton might have their weddings googled more often than Priscilla Beaulieu, the marriage of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu was quite the event of its time.

The gossip and excitement of the Presley’s exchanging of vows wasn’t solely because of the wedding itself, but rather the marriage. On May 1, 1967, the couple wed in the small second-floor suite of the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. Super Court Justice David Zenoff presided over the nuptials, and the entire ceremony concluded in less than ten minutes. Naturally, a press conference was held directly after the ceremony, and was followed by a breakfast reception for one hundred guests. The Presley’s didn’t try to fight the press, but instead befriend them. Many members of the press were actually invited to the reception!

Priscilla’s wedding style was pure modern glamour. From her teased hair, to her thick eyelashes and precise eyebrows, she was truly a vision! Donning a traditional white dress with lace and sequins, Priscilla looked elegant and fashionable.

Elvis was a decent ten years older than his bride. Priscilla was a mere fourteen years of age when Elvis first laid eyes on her. The Nails: Priscilla chose long, natural nails covered with a nude, blush toned polish.

The Lashes: A swipe of eyeliner and a set of bold, fake lashes will give you the same knock-out look that Priscilla wore on her wedding day.

Do you and your spouse-to-be get a thrill out visiting of spooky places? If haunted houses excite you, then take a peek at these haunted honeymoon venues. Haunted activities make any honeymoon extraordinary. Imagine waking up next to your spouse with total anticipation for what scary things the day may hold. Planning your honeymoon around freaky adventures would be such a memorable and thrilling experience!

The first eerie spot on our list is located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Farnsworth House has gained quite the sketchy reputation. Being the site of the bloodiest battle of the Civil War, ghosts are said to lurk about the town! Some of the authentic Gettysburg College buildings are said to be filled with ghosts of the Civil War soldiers. An episode of Unsolved Mysteries has even been filmed there– eeek! The lovely Farnsworth House now functions as a restaurant/ bed and breakfast. The Sarah Black room in the bed and breakfast was supposedly a dying place for one of the soldiers. What a frightening experience that would be to stay in the same room!

Our next spooky site is located in Concord, Massachusetts. The Colonial Inn dates way back to 1716. This spot is said to be haunted by Ralph Waldo Emerson himself! Perhaps you may sense his ghost while searching for Walden Pond. What a lovely venue to visit, especially for Emerson fans. How unique it would be to visit to visit a place so special to him. A hotel with charming history and major scare-factor!

The final gut-wrenching activity isn’t a hotel, but instead a ghost chasing adventure! In San Francisco, California, the Original Supernatural Adventure Walking Tour offers a high-thrill Ghost Hunt. On this three hour tour you will be introduced to several ghosts, and leave with a lifetime of memories! It would be fabulous to stay at a nearby hotel and wake early the next day to do ghost chasing! How unique would these honeymoon stories would be!

Can you handle a haunted honeymoon? If you aren’t brave enough for the haunted honeymoon, but want to add a little untraditional twist to your wedding, you can incorporate some pieces into your wedding decor. By adding mysterious candles to you reception tables or giving rustic fall favors, you can add a little spook to your big day! You could easily add little spiderwebs around the reception venue to give the room a shadowy feel. Dimmed lights, creaky sounds, rustling curtains, and even serving some witch’s brew for drinks will leave your guests feeling panicky!

The most anticipated wedding of the year is set for November 18, 2011 – that of Isabella Marie Swan and Edward Anthony Masen Cullen in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1. Brides-to-be around the globe will be watching to grab ideas from the top designers in the movie industry. In the movie, Sister-in-law to be, Alice, organizes all of the wedding arrangements from the invitations with red stamped crests to the attire of the vampire bridesmaids.

The ceremony is set in the forests of Forks, Washington, however filmed in the Mountains of Squamish, British Columbia. The venue is that of a fairy tale, with a tent of white blossoms hanging from trees of the rocky mountains completed with an altar made of freesia’s. Guests are seated on pews of carved trees as the bride walks an aisle of earth and flower petals.

Kristen Stewart, who plays the blushing bride Bella will be wearing a white vintage-inspired gown by famed fashion designer Carolina Herrera, complete with a veil which is fastened by a sapphire studded hair comb. The actual dress is not to be revealed until the movie premiers, with trailers keeping her dress just out of eyesight. The movie, and the dress, were under armed guard during the shooting of the movie.

After the ceremony, Edward will whisk Bella away to their honeymoon on Isle Esme off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, filmed in Paraty, Brazil. Their beach cabana is the perfect location for honeymooners, providing seclusion, whether you’re a vampire in hiding or just avoiding the world. This will no doubt be a top honeymoon destination following the release of Breaking Dawn.

Not too long ago, we shared the “Shake Shake” wedding proposal with you. Now, (I am almost saddened to say) we have found fries to go with that Shake. Beginning January 1, 2011, engaged couples can tie the knot in their favorite fast food restaurant. You guessed it: McDONALD’S!

To me, this seems more like a theme for a kid’s party than a wedding; sort of like a play on the young ‘puppy love kids often share. Once you hear the details, I’ll bet you’ll agree!  McDonalds is planning to offer a wedding gown adorned with balloons, a baked apple pie wedding cake, wedding favors fashioned after happy meal toys, and of course, gourmet cuisine straight off of the McDonald’s menu.

Now, I don’t want to give the wrong impression: I’m not a total killjoy. I can see how this would make for a fun party. I just can’t imagine anyone wanting to take their wedding to such a lowbrow level. But, apparently I’m very wrong. McDonald’s made its decision to offer wedding packages after fielding about 10 wedding inquiries per month. Wow.

In an age where technology has become so important, it is nice to hear that some brides still use “old-fashioned” methods of getting information, like through print sources. A recent study by WEtv Network’s Wedding Report indicated that 57% of brides are still getting ideas from bridal magazines. Of course, this is not the only source of inspiration that brides turn to; recommendations from friends and Internet searches also rank very high on their lists.

One wedding magazine has even taken on a face lift of sorts. The Perfect Wedding Guide, a free magazine for brides and grooms to peruse for ideas and inspirations, has totally redesigned their pages. Learning from customer feedback, they have included some popular features like money-saving tips and interesting wedding ideas. Most notably, they have changed the shape and size of the publication, making it easier for brides to slip it into their purses for on-the-go planning. This way, they can always have a swipe of that great dress or those perfect wedding favors on hand.

With so much bad news about the print world out there, I thought it would be nice to highlight a success story. Best of luck to Perfect Wedding Guide with their new look.

If you’re a soon-to-be bride, planning an October wedding, and still haven’t booked anything yet… have no fear — Universal Orlando has a great opportunity for you. They are now offering wedding packages with a Halloween Horror Nights theme. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but it pretty well guarantees an unforgettable evening!

And, if you act quick (like by this coming Monday, September 20th), you can enter for a chance to win one of Universal’s elaborate grand prizes. The prizes include food and drinks for twenty people, a ceremony in a haunted house, and ten scare-actors to entertain your guests. Whether or not you believe in love at first sight, this is one for the storybooks. The story of this pair of lovebirds began on April, 17, 1986, in an Edmonton, PA hospital.  Jacqueline Smith and Janis Singley both gave birth on that day to their little bundles of joy, Steve and Amy. Steve was one of two: he had a twin, Scott. But, the chemistry that sparked was between Steve and Amy.

When they were born, their families didn’t know each other, but Steve and Amy ended up going to school together. One day, as a sophomore, Steve got up the courage to ask Amy on date — and the rest is history (or maybe destiny).

The two were married on June 12th.

When a standard wedding ring just won’t do, you might want to commission the help of a talented artist/designer, like Luke Jerram. The ring in the picture above was designed by Jerram for his upcoming wedding and crafted by British jeweler Tamrakar. This ring says just about everything. It says “my love for you is unique;” it says “I want you with me wherever I go;” it says “I love you beyond words.”

It may be a little hard to tell from the picture, but this ring was made to project images of the couple. All you have to do is point the picture side toward a blank surface and shine a light through. What you get is a good-sized image of you and your honey. If you wanted, you can also swap out the image for another later on. I’ll bet Jerram will exchange this lovely engagement pic for a nice wedding photo after the big day.

With a little digging, I found out that the inspiration for this unique wedding ring came from a 19th century souvenir called a Stanhope (or peep). These were little trinkets (like pendants, letter openers, or even rings) that contained a tiny hole through which you could see a little picture. This got me thinking, how great would it be to have Stanhope wedding favors? You could give a little gift of appreciation with a tiny, almost hidden photo of the couple inside. I guess it may be cost-prohibitive, but a fun idea all the same!

According to Obama, one is enough. His invitation to Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding never arrived, but he understands. Some would even argue that one president is too many for a wedding; after all, this day is supposed to be about the bride. Just imagine your wedding teeming with secret service, and paparazzi that are there to catch a glimpse of some else — how annoying.

When asked by the ladies of the View, Obama was quoted as saying “you don’t want two presidents at one wedding!” Politics aside, I love that our President has a sense of humor. He also put the ladies on notice to not expect an invite to Sasha or Malia’s wedding. Gotta love it!

Personally, I hope that Chelsea is able to enjoy a magical, drama-free day. The only thing I wonder about (naturally) is the wedding favors. What kind of favors do you think are given at the wedding of a former President’s daughter? If I had to guess, I’d say it would be something personalized and just a little extravagant. Chelsea seems to have an understated style, but still, she is the former President’s daughter.
